Unirii Square

Known as National Square during the communist era, Unirii Square (Union Square) is one of the biggest squares in the city. There is a park in the centre, and the entire design is a clear example of the megalomania with which much of the city was built.

Important, But Not a Tourist Attraction

Unirii is one of the main transport hubs in Bucharest, and on one side of the square lies the Unirea Shopping Centre; a popular shopping area for tourists and locals alike

The square is one of the largest and busiest in the city, and whilst lots of tourist information states that it is one of the main tourist attractions in Bucharest, we don't think you should forego a visit to a more interesting sight to give this square a visit.
